I did it.

I bought more baby stuff. I'm not allowed, Christmas is coming up...but I couldn't resist these.

Just placed my CD order!

I'm finally jumping off of that cliff into the sea of CD's (cloth diapers). I ordered 20 prefolds, 3 different covers including a newborn one with umbilical scoop, 1 all-in-one set to see how they do, 1 wet bag, and 2 diaper snaps. Granted, I will still probably have a few boxes of diapers on hand for the hubs, who is not CD-friendly. So we'll see how it goes.

Now, my list of things to be done RIGHTHISMOMENTIFNOTYESTERDAY includes:
- ask insurance if they cover the pump
- contact daycare providers (I know, I know, needed to be done last month)
- clean car, get car seat base, have it installed & inspected
- get shelf for clothes that need to be hung up
- pay for your dang etsy hat woman! do it! now!
- put together stroller
- put together swing
- find a place for the p'n'p
- set up the p'n'p
- put all of his clothes away in his shelving unit
- look for a dresser, if need be
- return/buy the rest of the needed stuff at BRU
- return extra stuff to tar-jay, buy online-only items there too
- put together FLOR - this one may require some extra outside help, lol
- either move dvd holder or buy a new shelf for them
- make room in bedroom for co-sleeper (this requires actually cleaning it)
- vacuum, dust, and disinfect the entire house - that shouldn't be too tough, should it?...

ok, registry.

I registered at BRU and Tarjay. I have no idea for what I registered, as I set both up online and then went to the stores to complete, and promptly forgot about it.

I wish there were something to say "here is what you will need" and "don't bother with this." I have tried to get recs as best I can - TB has a list, and so does BRU, and I do have a list of things that people haven't needed at all. But where do I stop? What about the things I want that aren't in the stores?

Here are some things I would like to get, but I've kind of resigned myself to watching sales, because I don't think anyone will buy these and they're not available in the stores I go to:
- muslin swaddling wraps
- cloth diapers
- washable baby wipes (aka cotton rags/washcloths)
- organic anything (cribsheets, mostly)

But no one ever tells you how much you need. How many of these suckers do I really need?

towels, short-sleeve onesies, long-sleeve onesies, pj's with feet, socks, washcloths, burp cloths, tees and pants, mittens, swaddling blankets, pacifiers, bottles, bibs

oh goodness. and then there are the sizes. start out with newborn? 0-3? how many 3-6? plan for long-sleeve only in 3-6 since he'll be born october-ish? will it be really cold in october? gar. I don't really want to buy anything now, as the usual around my area is that you will have a baby shower, but on the other hand - I want to stock this kid up!!!

Stuff I've Already Bought:
Guitar jumpsuit, 0-3
elephant onesie, 0-3
elephant blanket
elephant socks
blue sleeper gown, newborn
blue elephant bib w/ paci clip

Stuff I've "Inherited:"
two pairs mittens
hat & mitten set
pair of shoes

No Offense, Ed.

But this?

Um, reminds me of the 80's. And not in a good way.

So let's talk maternity clothes.

Mostly, because I need something to distract me from the registry feature not working at BRU right now.

I had two types of pants pre-AB, the regular pants and the fat pants. At about 13 weeks, I was solidly on the fat pants, of which I have...2 khaki-colored and 1 black. So, I was jonesing for more pants.

I ordered these little beauties from yap:

They have a demi panel, which basically means "big elastic waistband." Look Ma, no zipper! They are awesome, but at times I feel like they are elastic-ing the wrong part of my anatomy and have to move the band up or down depending on how close to lunch it is.

I also got, for comparison, this budget-friendly ON pair:

I think the elastic waist will be friendlier when I get bigger, but they are definitely more leg-fitting than the other pair, probably because the others were "modern." Sheesh, cuts.

I also got some shirts:

And that's about it. For the most part, I'm still in the regular clothes (and fat pants, lol). I did attempt to go to Motherhood this weekend, it's in a little row of shoppes by our local mall. Tried to open the door...wait, what time is it? Door's locked...it's ten-thirty...they open at ten...WTF??? My mom and I were like...did we miss savings time or something? We even went next door to Gymboree to ask them if something had happened that we didn't know about. I haven't been back since, so I don't know if they just had an emergency or whatever, but still....weird!

Oh, and while at Gymboree:

OMG, love this. love the whole collection along these lines. Granted, it's all for boys, but even if I'm having a girl, still good colors. Can I buy stuff yet? Please? *sigh*

The whole collection is just freaking awesome.

I'm not a fan of ruffles anyway, so I'd still dress a girl in jungle animals. I was in primary colors til the age of 3. I'm sure nobody cared, least of all me. As long as I got my E. T. cake, I was set.

More things for my phantom baby.

You really can't keep me away from CBB, as hard as you try.

Yum.
EggBaby's striped one-piece.

Their maternity's not to shabby, either.

And, some fun bedding.
Hoohobbers has fabric that I want.

*sigh*

Back to reality now. Chances of me having kids in the next year get slimmer every day. I wish my waistline was getting slimmer with those chances as well...alas, I have been eating my feelings lately. They just taste so damn good.

mmm, cute fabric.

LOVE.
This is way too cute. There are also cowboy ones, and different colors with kangaroos, but this is my fave. Just the right amount of pink not to be obnoxious.
Bloume Baby has the cutest stuff. Its prices are a little on the high side, but if you find that special item (like a kimono sweater), so worth it.

One more thing:

WANT THAT NOW! Heck with future kids, can I just display the toys at my house? I already have a viewfinder.

AHHHHHH!

What do I do now?!?! I guess I'll have to go to lunch.

Or...browse babyGap, since apparently they now have bedding, sippy cups, and high chairs (oh my).

I might die of :wantthat: overload.
